Cryogenic atom chips

General introduction

Our activity on cryogenic atom traps has started in 2001. Our long term goal is to realize a new kind of experiments where an individual atoms in a superposition of Rydberg states could be trapped and interact together or with a surface for very long times in the second range.
This requires the development of new experimental techniques, which should in themselves have a scientific interest. We are particularly working on superconducting atom chips, which would allow us to study the (...)
